Warranty Policy

Renovator Store Pty Ltd A.C.N.155 958 848 (we, us, our or Renovator Store) wishes its customers and Website users to shop with confidence and be fully informed of their rights to return products or seek a refund. Accordingly, we have developed a Returns and Warranties Policy to ensure that you are fully aware of your rights and our obligations to you with respect to refunds and returns.

Please read this Renovator Store Warranty Policy (the Warranty Policy) carefully to ensure that you are fully aware of your rights and obligations when seeking to claim under a warranty or receive a refund or replacement for products purchased (Products) from the Renovator Store website, which is displayed at www.renovatorstore.com.au (the Website).

By completing and submitting an order to purchase Products via the Website, you agree to be bound by the Warranty Policy terms, which together with the Terms of Use and the Purchase Terms of this Website, is an agreement between Renovator Store and you.  Any variation of the Warranty Policy must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Renovator Store.

We reserve the right to amend the Warranty Policy at any time.

1       Other forms of returns

If you are seeking a refund or to return a Product for the following reasons this Warranty Policy may not apply:

a)    Your item is damaged or faulty on delivery – We insure the Product in transit to your nominated delivery address.  Please contact us with your Order number and Product number (SKU) handy to discuss.  For the purpose of our potential insurance claim, we may need to see digital photos of the damage.

b)    Your item is the incorrect product – Please contact us with your Order number and Product number (SKU) handy within 14 days of delivery so we can arrange to rectify this error.

c)    You have changed your mind – You can seek to return a product under our Money Back Guarantee.  Please see our Money Back Guarantee Terms and Conditions.

d)    Your item never arrived – Please contact us with your Order number and Product number (SKU) handy.

2       Limited Warranty

In addition to your other rights and remedies under law in relation to the Products:

  • Renovator Store offers a warranty (Store Warranty) for Product defects for 12 months from the date of the purchase transaction of the Product; and
  • Some Product suppliers or manufacturers offer warranty terms on Products or their selected components as noted in product listings or in the literature accompanying Products (Supplier Warranty) from the date of the purchase transaction of the Product.

The benefits under the Store Warranty and the Supplier Warranty, if available, are in addition to other rights and remedies under law in relation to the Product.

During the warranty period, if Renovator Store determines that the Product is defective in construction, materials, or composition it will repair, provide replacement spare parts for, or exchange the item with an equivalent product.  Further Supplier Warranty coverage might also be available as stated on the product listing or as enclosed with the Product.  Any replaced items become Renovator Store’s property.  

2.1  Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty application conditions

The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty does not cover:

  • Faults, damage or loss caused by:

    • Normal wear and tear, including of components such as non-return valves and membranes in tapware,
    • Misuse, improper or abnormal use or application,
    • Failure to follow correct installation, normal operating, or proper care instructions as provided with the Product and on the Description and Product Hints on the Product page on the Website,
    • Inadequate maintenance,
    • Chemical, abrasive, or electrical influences,
    • Installation in part or whole by a person who is not a qualified and licensed installer,
    • Installation in a facility or in a situation that is not fully compliant with Australian standards,
    • Installation that has not complied with Australian standards,
    • Repairs or tampering by unathorised technicians,
    • The use of non-original spare parts,
    • Any modification to the Product,
    • Damage due to poor storage, dampness, liquid, fire, misuse, vandalism, or a corrosive environment, 
  • The following issues, services and items:

    • Free or bonus and promotional products,
    • Any slight imperfections in the finishes (such as stainless steel) or natural materials (such as stone or wood) that should not be considered as faults but a typical characteristic of these crafted products,
    • Product assembly or disassembly charges, visits and calls of inspectors or specialised technicians, or product installation or extraction/removal,
    • For lighting, performance issues or failure due to incompatibility with, or problems and issues associated with, any other electrical device, lighting product, dimmer, controller, accessory, or system on the circuit,
    • Costs borne by the customer due to the unavailability or non-use of the Product
    • Any other costs or loss of revenue due to the unavailability, inoperability or performance of the Product.

The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty will apply only if all the following conditions are satisfied:

  • If already installed, for electrical products, evidence provided that they were fully installed by a qualified and licensed electrician, and for plumbing products, evidence provided that they were fully installed by a qualified and licensed plumber,

  • The item is or is to be installed and used in a domestic residential situation only,

  • The failure is due to a fault in the manufacture of the product,

  • Proof of purchase and the date of purchase is provided,

  • The claimant is the original purchaser of the Product,

  • The installation and handling of the product is done with due care and in accordance with the instructions provided and product listing on the Renovator Store website.

This Limited Warranty is void if the product is not used for the purpose for which it is designed.

2.2  Special warranty conditions for tapware, sanitary ware and plumbing products

In addition to the above the following warranty conditions apply to plumbing and tapware products:  

  • The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty does not cover faults, damage or loss caused by

    • Freezing, 
    • Impurities in the water pipes,
    • Water pressure above 75 psi or below 7.5 psi, or 
    • Water temperature above 65 degrees Centigrade,
  • The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty will apply only if all the following conditions are satisfied:

    • If already installed, for plumbing/tapware items that are Watermark certified, evidence provided that they were fully installed by a qualified and licensed plumber, and
    • For Watermark certified tapware, the pipework is flushed out prior to installation, and installed with isolating stop cocks and pressure limiting valves. 

2.3  Special warranty conditions for lighting and electrical products

In addition to the above the following warranty conditions apply to lighting and electrical products:  

  • The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty does not cover faults, damage or loss caused by

    • In ceiling lighting, insufficient spacing from insulation and surrounding building materials, 
    • In transformer based lighting, insufficient distance between the luminairie and the transformer,
    • Improper or abnormal based power supply including a voltage level that is more than 5% higher or lower than the Australian standard of 230 volts, and
    • Electrical current fluctuations and harmonic distortions.
  • The Store Warranty and Supplier Warranty will apply only if all the following conditions are satisfied:

    • If already installed, for electrical products, evidence provided that they were fully installed by a qualified and licensed electrician. 

2.4  Claiming under Store Warranty or Supplier Warranty

In order to make a warranty claim you must notify Renovator Store within 10 days after your discovery of the defect.  In the event that you believe that you are entitled to make a claim under the Store Warranty or Supplier Warranty for a Product, you must provide us with the following information by email to service@renovatorstore.com.au:

  • Your full name and address;
  • The original order number; and
  • The detailed reason for claiming under the Store or Supplier Warranty.

In considering your entitlement to a refund under a Store Warranty or Supplier Warranty claim, we may require you to provide us with evidence to support your claim, including photographs. We may also require you to return the Product to us for inspection, deliver the Product to our nominated inspection centre or allow one of our representatives to inspect the Product.

To proceed with a claim under a Store Warranty or Supplier Warranty you will need to comply with directions of Renovator Store staff in relation to assessing or troubleshooting any problem, or facilitating any repair or replacement under this Returns and Warranties Policy.  If we authorise a warranty claim you will be notified by email (Email Authorisation).  Renovator Store reserves the right to replace or repair a Product or the defective component of the Product.

2.5  Returning products

As part of a claim process under this Warranty Policy you may be asked to return the Product or its defective component to a repair or distribution centre nominated by Renovator Store.

Please follow the guidance and instructions from Renovator Store to progress your claim as practically as possible.   You are likely to be requested to safely pack the Product or its defective component in its original packaging if possible.  Depending on the nature of the warranty claim the product may have to be returned complete with all parts.  Renovator Store will discuss arrangements for the freight of any returned item(s) under this Warranty Policy.

2.6  If Renovator Store elects not to repair or replace

If Renovator Store determines not to repair or replace the Product, at its election, will either provide you with a credit to spend on the Website or provide you with a refund of the purchase price of the Product including any GST (excluding the original order Delivery Cost paid by Renovator Store, which if not available, will be the default shipping rate for a non-member of the Website for that type of Product).  Where possible, refunds will be executed through a reversal of the initial customer transaction, including the reversal of any store or promotion credits utilised in the order at our complete discretion. The customer will be provided with e-mail acknowledgement once the refund is paid. Renovator Store accepts no responsibility for any delays in receipt of the refund due to payment gateway processes.

3       Warranty under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to a compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

4       Exclusions

To the maximium extent permitted by law and subject to your rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and similar legislation, you agree that we will not otherwise be liable to you in respect of any direct, special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages arising in connection with a Product. This clause will not be construed as excluding, qualifying or limiting your statutory rights or remedies where such exclusion, qualification or limitation would be prohibited by legislation.
