Be aware many products are not genuine 14AWG gauge. They use thick PVC so the cable appears larger, or do not using pure hi-fi grade copper. The specifications of Digihaus® cables are guaranteed to be exact. When purchasing in-wall cables it is best to not compromise
Premium Speaker Cable
Professionals know that wired speakers clearly outperform equivalent wireless speakers. This speaker cable is of premium standard - for those that are after the highest quality sound in home cinema setups. It is a heavy 14AWG gauge pure hi-fi oxygen free copper (OFC). It will not compromise the audio of the majority of home cinema systems, except those of the largest size. 14AWG is ideal for supporting speakers at long distances. Its bright orange fire retardant PVC outer jacket protects it during installation, is fully fire rated for complete safety, and is alerts electricians to keep their power cables away.
What is AWG?
The AWG (American Wire Gauge) rating of a cable determines its thickness and conductivity. The lower the number, the thicker and more conductive it is. The larger the distance or speaker the larger the cable required - and 12AWG is regarded as the ultra premium standard for high-end home theatre set ups. Many installers put in 16AWG or 18AWG as standard, but if you want the best then we would recommend that you step it up to 14AWG or even 12AWG. See the Digihaus® in-wall speaker cable comparison chart below:
Ultra Premium speaker cable for your home theatre
Pure OFC Copper - This cable has two (2) 99.9% oxygen-free copper 14AWG conductors, 1 coated red and 1 coated black. Each conductor has 105 copper strands. The kind of quality you get from this cable assures you that you can leave it in your wall and expect the best performance on your speakers that you could ever have, as opposed to the inferior performance you can get from some cheaper cables that are only copper coated strands.
14AWG for Premium performance - 16AWG is regarded as suitable for most domestic home theatre setups with no detectable effect on audio over 15 metre distances to a typical 8 ohm speaker. The thicker 14 AWG and 12AWG cable is recommended by Digihaus® for lower impedance speakers and longer distances. It will ensure your audio quality is not compromised by the speaker cable. See more information on recommended maximum speaker cable lengths by gauge here.
ROHS Compliant- It is fully RoHS compliant, meaning the manufacturing process is entirely environmentally friendly.
Designed for in-wall installation - the heavy duty easy slide PVC jacket will protect the cable during installation. It is easier to pull through cavities and affix to building structures and the extra protective thick coating and internal rip cord helps protect the internal conductors from stretching, tears and accidental damage. The 2 x 105 strand conductors provide the perfect balance of strength and flexibility for in-wall installation.
High visibility - professional home theatre installers will remind you to keep speaker wires away from power cables and other sources of electromagnetic interferance. The super bright colour of the PVC jacket ensures that it is highly visible when installing in your walls and ceilings. Electricians will know to keep their other cables away.
Fire retardant - The flame retardant PVC compound used in the jacket and conductor insulation is fire retardant and exceeds all local domestic requirements. It has a high temperature and combustion resistance, and low smoke and toxicity. In house fires, cable sheaths can act as conduits to spread fire within wall cavities, and often produce highly toxic gasses. Digihaus® fire retandant cables give you that extra protection to reduce fire spread risk and avoid toxic smoke.
10 Year Warranty- Digihaus® stands behind the superiority fo its products. Any defects are covered by a full manufacturer product replacement guarantee. It is always best practice to test the performance of your cable before any installation.

Unless otherwise stated, orders are typically despatched within one business day. If an order is made after hours or on non-business days it is deemed to be made on the next business day - so, for example, an order made on the weekend will be queued for despatch on the Monday, and is typically despatched that day or the following business day. If you order before 10am on a business day we make best efforts to despatch it the same day.
Delivery timeframes are dependent on your location, which distribution centre we are sending from, the size and number of parcels, and the schedules of the carrier. Australia Post and Toll Ipec are our preferred carriers, although sometimes other carriers are utilised. In most cases the average delivery times we observe are:
|VIC Metro||1 to 3 business days|
|VIC Regional||2 to 4 business days|
|NSW Metro||2 to 4 business days|
|NSW Regional||4 to 6 business days|
|QLD Metro||3 to 5 business days|
|QLD Regional||4 to 9 business days|
|TAS, SA, WA and NT||3 to 9 business days|
These are average delivery times and we often observe shorter and longer timeframes. Renovator Store cannot control delivery timeframes and processes, and your first point of communication on a delivery is the carrier.
To see more detailed estimated delivery timeframes visit our Estimated Shipping Times page.
Your order might arrive in separate deliveries
An order might come in multiple parcels. Sometimes we might send your order in more than one package or from different distribution centres, and they may arrive at different times.
How can I track my order delivery?
In most cases you will be sent instructions by email on how to track your delivery once your order has been completed. In some cases tracking information is not available. If you are concerned about the progress of your delivery the fastest way to get information is to contact the carrier and quote the tracking number. We can only see the same tracking information available to you.
What if I am not at home to accept delivery?
Australia Post and Toll typically require a signature upon delivery and our nominated couriers typically deliver only during business hours. So it is best to provide a shipping address that will be attended during business hours. If someone is not available to accept the goods the standard practice is to leave a card informing you how to collect at your local Post Office or for re-delivery.
You can put a short note on your order on the order checkout screen to provide delivery instructions, however Renovator Store cannot guarantee the carrier will observe these requests.
We can deliver to an Australia Post Parcel Locker
For a single item purchase you can easily arrange for delivery to an Australia Post parcel locker. There are 200 locations across Australia (also at 7-Eleven Stores and BP Service Stations) that are accessible 24/7 and free to arrange. They will email and SMS you when its ready to collect! Pick your gauge carefully. It is important to consider the distance from the receiver to the speakers in your setup before purchasing a cable. There are different gauges that make one particular type of speaker cable more suited for an installation than others.
Complete the installation professionally. It is also recommended that banana plugs and wall plates be purchased to professionally finish the installation of the in-wall wires and to connect them to your audio receiver.
Calculate your cable length. Carefully calculate the required cable for each speaker back to your AV equipment location. Allow about 25% extra as cables never go in a straight line, and you will need plenty of slack at each end. Also allow for enough spare cable to connect your equipment to the wall plate
Future proof. You might not be able to justify putting in extra surround speakers now, but you should pre-wire for them in case you want to install them later. Use our highly visible in-wall speaker wire and it will be easy to find when you want to upgrade in a few years.
Best to use an expert. Whilst the installation process is not difficult and a popular DIY project, we always recommend that you use a qualified expert.
