With winter just around the corner your front hallway is one of the first places to get untidy with the clutter of boots, jumpers, and coats. Your front hallway is an important first impression so clean it up and make it look like home sweet home. Here are five quick fixes.
Organise - A hallway cupboard often becomes a dumping ground. By using closet organisers, you can keep track of your gloves hats, sporting equipment and dog leash. A console with drawers can be used to store keys, sunglasses, and other small objects. Hooks can also be installed on the wall to hang coats, jackets, jumpers and hats.
Hide - Your boots and shoes and don't let your front entrance become cluttered. Clear out the summer gear. Build or buy a storage bench, which can be used not only as storage but to sit on and and lace up before heading out. Or simply use some baskets to help hide the footwear.
Paint - As the saying goes, painting really is the biggest bang for your buck! By switching to a lighter colour you can give your hallway the illusion of more space. Make sure you pick a colour to coordinate with the other colours in your house.
Light - Pick up a new entryway light fixture. Put it on a dimmer switch so you can control the amount of light you need.
Hardware - Adding new coordinated door hardware in a hallway is a simple way to freshen up the appearance and tie the look together.
